The annual meeting of the European Astronomical Society (EAS) ended today in Krakow, Poland. Next year, Padua will host the annual EAS meeting from 1st to 5th July 2024

The annual meeting of the European Astronomical Society (EAS) ended today in Krakow, Poland. The meeting gathered some 1,500 researchers from around the world to discuss topics from exoplanets to star formation and galactic evolution. Next year, Padua will host the annualĀ EAS meeting from 1st to 5th July 2024.


According to the ritual, at the end of the closing ceremony, the Polish committee that collaborated in the organization of the conference passed the flag to the Italian colleagues. "It is a great opportunity for Italy, also for Padua but certainly for the whole Italian astronomical community, and I hope we will be able to make the best out of it", comments Sara Lucatello, researcher at the National Institute of Astrophysics in Padua and vice president of Eas . "I can't wait to bring European astronomy to my institute and show them the great astronomical capabilities and cutting-edge science that is being done in Italy today."
