Stellar evolution along the HR diagram with Gaia

The hybrid workshop started its activities in the INAF National Auditorium “Ernesto Capocci” of the Capodimonte Astronomical Observatory in Naples

On September 20, 2022 the hybrid workshop "Stellar evolution along the HR diagram with Gaia" started its activities in the INAF National Auditorium “Ernesto Capocci” of the Capodimonte Astronomical Observatory in Naples.

The meeting is part of the project "Revealing the Milky Way with Gaia” (MW-Gaia)" funded by the COST initiative (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) and focuses on the Gaia crucial contribution to the study of stellar evolution along different evolutionary phases of the  HR diagram.

The conference is organized over 3.5 days. After a first overview by members of the Gaia Data Processing and Analysis Consortium (DPAC) on the main data products published with Gaia third data release ( Gaia DR3), the meeting will specifically discuss the constraints that Gaia data can place on different aspects of stellar evolution as well as the synergies existing between Gaia and the present and future large spectroscopic surveys.

The INAF researchers are deeply involved in the Gaia mission as well as in a number of complementary surveys. They have  world-wide  acknowledged

expertise in the study of the different phases of stellar evolution.

The meeting will provide a unique opportunity to combine theoretical and observational expertise in stellar physics and in the study of the resolved stellar populations in the Milky Way. It will foster new collaborations and the development of new projects in fields that see the INAF researchers at forefront.
